It is hard to begin to share our thanks and gratitude for all that Alvin Cocchia has done for us as our Realtor, during the purchase of our first home. As first time buyers, we had no idea where to begin. Starting with only seeking open houses, we realized quickly that these were not going to get us far.
During one open house, we met Al and Mike of the Border Group. It did not take long for my wife and I to follow up with them and sign on as their clients. When we began to buy our first home, we were under the impression that no matter who the realtor, they would sensationalize any house we saw to make a quick sale. Our trust in Al grew quickly as it became evident this was not the case with him; he looked out for our best interest from day one. Al educated us as first time homebuyers regarding everything we needed to know and more about the real estate market and the process of buying a home.
Al pointed out not only the good in homes, but things we needed to be aware of including types of heating systems, ages of water heaters, foundation hazards, ect. Al was also helpful in identifying the potential costs for repairs needed for homes we had looked at, to ensure that we would be successful in whatever home we chose to buy. We have gotten to know Al very well as the purchase of our first home took eight long months; it was a "short sale." Throughout these eight months, Al was available around the clock. Al made clear that he was always "just a call away" and was extremely responsive to e-mail.
Al was up on the latest technology, which made our home search much easier. Al was able to show us homes at our convenience and scheduling visits was never about when he was most available. Finally, Al was an unbelievable resource for community networking. Al was able to share names of Attorneys, home inspectors, and mortgage lenders he has worked with successfully in the past. As first time homebuyers, we did not know who we could count on. In the end, we worked with an unbelievable team of professionals who also held much respect for Al as a realtor; we could not have been blessed with a more productive, patient and hard working team. Buying our first home was not easy, to say the least, we dealt with difficult banks and difficult people to buy this short sale home. Al was patient every step of the way, especially during the many setbacks we had face during the process.
Al is a role model of what a realtor should be. We began as nave first time homebuyers and ended up as secure, happy homeowners. We are living in our dream home and it would not have been possible without the help of Al. We have absolutely no reservations in referring him to friends, family and other homebuyers within the community.
